Located below is important information you need for the beginning of the school year. Please take the time to read the following five documents in order to have a good understanding of my expectations for this year. You may click on the PDF image of each document to download the files.
Handbook 2022-2023
This handbook outlines my classroom procedures, expectations, and concert information.
Please read through the packet and fill out the last page called the "Statement of Commitment". This last page is due to me before the second Friday of the school year.
Band Supply List
The Band Supply List outlines the materials needed to be successful in my class.
Every day your child comes to my band room, they will be graded on being prepared. Make sure your child brings all of their materials to class!
Renting/Buying Instruments
As a beginning band teacher, I HIGHLY recommend you rent your child's instrument from a music store. Your child might switch instruments in the future. The store will also repair the instrument when it breaks while also giving you a replacement instrument so your child will not be empty handed for class. Instrument rental prices are usually $20 a month.

If you plan on buying the instrument, please let me know and I will send you a list of recommended instrument brands that are not fraudulent.
Music Store List
This is a list of recommended instrument stores in the area that will provide you with a good quality instrument at a reasonable price.
You may also purchase the Measures of Success Book 1 at these stores.
Instrument Loan Application
This form has been moved electronically to the Band Handbook contract.
This form is only for families who are not able to financially provide an instrument for their child.

We believe a family's financial situation should not prevent a child from learning an instrument. If you are unable to rent an instrument this year, you must fill out this form and turn it in to me by the second Friday of the school year. Instruments are distributed by lottery and are very limited.

You may also need to fill this form out if your child wishes to play a larger instrument (baritone, tenor saxophone, and tuba). Please email me about this situation.

Please refrain from filling out this form if are able to financially provide a music instrument for your child. This will lead to families with no instrument because there are not enough for every child in need.
